I was invited to give TEDx talk at TEDx Women in Covent Garden on 07 Dec 2013. The theme for the event was Un-labelled and the conference reflected on ways of challenging socially, culturally and politically constructed labels that affect all of us, both men and women. The Covent Garden event also explored how an ‘Un-Labelled’ woman can re-invent herself.
My talk was called “Rebel Heart” and it explored the Un-labelled theme through a personal story about a kiss that changed my life. My aim was to draw from it a universal principle which I hoped would be helpful to others in the spirit of the TED mission of “Ideas Worth Spreading”.
I blogged about my preparation for the TEDx talk as well as my reflections on the theme and my personal story here on StoryGuru.co.uk. The archive can be accessed as follows:

The audience at the TEDx conference had some lovely things to say about my talk:
“One of the best and most moving speeches I have ever heard at TEDx.” Clare Jones, Inspiring the Future
“Beautiful, touching, heartwarming. An absolutely electrifying finale to TEDxCoventGardenWomen!” Sarah Lloyd-Hughes, Ginger Public Speaking
