StoryGuru Projects are stand alone projects such as books and talks that I am working on.
One of my mottos is “I blog therefore I am” so I will often be blogging about such activities and events! It makes sense to collate the different essays and stories into distinct easy to follow collections.
I am developing Bound Feet Blues, my first full length storytelling piece, bringing together stories from my family and from my own life. In Chinese tradition, women with tiny bound feet were desirable as wives and lovers, their delicate feet seen as objects of both status and sexual fetish. Drawing from my Chinese-Malaysian background, I explore themes of female desirability, identity and empowerment in this personal story told through the shoes in my life. In the work, bound feet, stillettoes, expensive Italian pumps, trainers, hiking boots and brogues tell the stories of our hearts, hopes and joys.

Little Remarkable Moments
Little Remarkable Moments is a blog about noticing and appreciating the remarkable in the ordinary moments of our lives. It came into being when I made a new year’s resolution in 2015 to appreciate each moment – and decided that keeping an online journal of little remarkable moments in my year (and beyond) would help in this mindfulness project.

This series of essays documents my preparation for the TEDx Covent Garden Women event on Sat 07 Dec 2013 where gave a talk called “Rebel Heart”. I write about how I came to be invited to give a TEDx talk, my process in developing the talk and the challenges I struggled with. Also, I explore the principles and ideas that are embedded in my talk and which I hoped to bring to life when I got up to speak on the day…
